Holiday Meals for the Homebound

Please stop by our “Holiday Meals” booth at the Mall of Abilene from  24 November through 24 December. We will be accepting donations to purchase food to prepare a delicious holiday meal for our clients. Please remember each $5.00 donated pays for one holiday meal. Our booth is located between Zales and the Shoe Dept. (across from Santa’s Village).

Volunteers are needed to sit and accept donations at our table. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinators at  (325) 672-5050.
We are looking forward to seeing you this holiday season.

$5,000.00 Challenge Grant
“Groceries on Wheels”

“Groceries on Wheels” provides a selection of shelf stable food once a month for select clients who need the extra help. There is cereal, rice and dry beans, peanut butter and jelly, canned meat, soup and crackers, macaroni and cheese, instant potatoes, pancake mix and syrup, canned fruit and juice, along with other pantry items.  Approximately 225 bags of groceries are provided each month. This program is only possible due to the generous donations of food and money we receive from our donors.

A generous donor has offered a $5,000.00 Challenge Grant to help support this program. That means, he will match dollar for dollar, every donation made to “Groceries on Wheels” up to $5,000.00.  To participate in this challenge, please indicate on your donation that it is for “Groceries on Wheels,” and then watch your donation double. You can mail a check to Meals on Wheels Plus, P.O. Box 903, Abilene, TX 79604; or donate on-line and check the box next to “Groceries on Wheels.”

Special thanks to all that participated in the Garage Band Woodstock 6

What an outstanding job she did and what a blessing to receive such a generous donation.
