Home-Delivered Meals In Abilene Since 1975

Currently a team of 800+ wonderful volunteers is involved in delivery of some 1,400 daily meals in Abilene, Anson, Aspermont, Lawn, Ovalo, Potosi, Tuscola, Eula, Hamby, Hamlin, Hawley, Hodges, Ballinger, Rowena, and Winters.

While many Meals on Wheels recipients are age 65 or older, the program is also available for younger adults who have disabilities. Many of those we serve have few visitors other than the Meals on Wheels drivers.

1975

Meals On Wheels Plus, Inc. was
formed as a non-profit with a
Board of Directors

Meals On Wheels Plus opened
its first kitchen at the University
Baptist Church.

1977

1987

University Church of Christ
donated property for construction
of a new building at 949 Mesquite.

2002

Meals On Wheels Plus grows to
serve over 725 meals per day

2004

Meals On Wheels moved into the new
9,573 sq. ft. location at 717 N. 10th with a
more modern kitchen
